The Nevada Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) promotes the health and well-being of its residents through the delivery or facilitation of a multitude of essential services to ensure families are strengthened, public health is protected, and individuals achieve their highest level of self-sufficiency. The Department is the largest in state government comprised of five Divisions along with additional programs and offices overseen by the DHHS’s Director’s Office. The Nevada Department of Health is the main organization working towards promoting health, preventing disease and well-being. The department’s mission is to protect the lives of all citizens. The main agenda include: the Office of Health Equity, Pharmacy, Emergency Preparedness and Response, Health Promotion and Disease Prevention, Volunteer Health Care,Vital Records,Environmental Health, Maternal and Child Health, Epidemiology, Infectious Disease and Immunization, Emergency Medical Services,Nursing and the State Public Health Laboratory.

Tribal Liaisons

The State of Nevada Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is committed to partnering with the 27 Tribes within the State of Nevada through a Tribal Consultation Process Agreement. Vital Records is Clark County's repository for all birth and death records. In the State of Nevada these records are confidential.

Birth Certificates: The health district has birth certificates for Clark County births from 1973 to the present.

Death Certificates: The health district has death certificates for Clark County deaths from 1988 to the present.
